Barbara Jean Umstead, of Hoover, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the age of 83.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard "Dick" Umstead; her son, Richard Umstead, Jr. (Cynthia); her daughter, Kimberly Williams (Ray); 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and her sister, Mae Cothran.

The family will receive friends from 1-2, Friday, March 10, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Service will follow at 2:00 in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
