Barbara Rushing

Mrs. Barbara A. Rushing, of Bessemer, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the age of 76. She was a lifelong member of Canaan Baptist Church in Bessemer. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great -grandmother and friend, and was a prayer partner to many. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Selby K. Rushing; 1 son, Steven L. Rushing (Cindy); 2 grandchildren, Karen Vice (Ben) and Buddy Rushing; 2 great-grandchildren, Kooper and Samantha Vice; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Morgan Bailey officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Canaan Baptist Church, 2543 Morgan Rd., Bessemer, AL 35022.
