Barbara Key

Mrs. Barbara Ann Elwell Key, 87, of Birmingham passed away on March 27, 2020. Barbara enjoyed gardening, Disney, and was a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts. She was a devoted member of Pine Lane Church of Christ and was a 1951 graduate of Fairfield High School. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Key and parents, Alfred R. Elwell and Helen L. Hughes Elwell.

She is survived by her sons, George Dennis Key (Terri), Dwight D. Key (Vicky), and Robert David Key; daughter, Barbara Diana Key Mayhall (Jonathan); grandchildren, Tom Key and Rachel Key; and brother, Douglas Elwell.

There will be a private graveside service held for Barbara at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society or an animal rescue organization of your choice.
