Barbara Brice

Mrs. Barbara Reed Brice was born October 8, 1933 and died June 1, 2011. She was the daughter of Archie Chevis Reed and Corrie Bowen Reed of Winnsboro, SC. Mrs. Brice has been a resident of Mountain Brook, AL since 1970 and a faithful member of Brookwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Brice retired from Samford University in 1991. Mrs. Brice is joined by her husband of 58 years in death. She is survived by one son; Riley Brice, Jr. (Marty)of Auburn, AL, two daughters; Mrs. Janet Dees (David) and Mrs. Linda McGarr (Sam) both of Birmingham, two grandsons; Riley Brice III, and Christopher Brice, three granddaughters; Elizabeth Brice, Leigh Dees, and Rachel Dees. Mrs. Brice is also survived by one brother, Dr. Archie C. Reed, Jr. (Maudie) and an aunt, Ruth Reed Davis, both of Winnsboro, SC. A memorial service will held for Mrs. Brice at Brookwood Baptist Church, 3449 Overton Road, Mountain Brook, AL at 11:00 AM on June 6, 2011. The family will receive friends between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM on June 5, 2011, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL.
