Avis Jones

of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the age of 77. She was retired from Air and Hydraulics Engineering. Mrs. Jones was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church and was a volunteer at the Crisis Center. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Jones. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, H. Clinton Jones; a daughter, Lisa Ruggieri of Hoover; three grandchildren, Tina Ruggieri, Whitney Jones and Garett Jones; three brothers, Caldwell Buckelew (Ivo) of Gadsen, Volis Buckelew (Ivalene) of Albertville and Don Buckelew (Faye) of Huntsville; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Jones of Alabaster, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. David Byrd officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
