Arthur Allen Hawkins

Arthur Allen Hawkins, Jr. of Alabaster, Alabama passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 5, 2023 at the age of 92.

He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Allen Hawkins, Sr., mother Ella Kate Burns, brothers Robert, Jack, Paul, Tom, great grandsons Parker Green, Noah Green.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ressie Brasher Hawkins, daughter Cathy Green (Doug), grandchildren Ben Green, Amy Gilham (Chris), great grandchildren Brody Gilham, Tucker Green, Ellie Gilham, Jackson Green, Anna Gilham, sister Lanett Beasley (Gene).

Allen was born on April 4, 1931 and lived a long full life. He was a veteran of The United States Navy. He spent most of his years building homes and was a Master Interior Trim Carpenter. He and Ressie loved to travel in their motor home and visited every state. Allen lived life to the fullest, never letting his age slow him down. Even last year he took his whole family to Disney World for their Christmas gift. He enjoyed every minute! One of his favorite things to do was play Nintendo and watch Tom and Jerry cartoons with his great grandchildren. He loved his Kingwood Church family where he was a faithful member for 60 years. He loved his wife, daughter, and family and most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of his heart. 

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home Memorial Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. Visitation 1:00pm and funeral service at 2:00pm
