Arthur Davis

Arthur Lee Davis, 73, passed away at his home in Birmingham, AL on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. He was born in Birmingham, AL to Jesse B. Davis and Ola Mae Walton Davis. Arthur met the love of his life, Lois Jean Washington in Birmingham, AL. They were married over 50 years.

Arthur was proceeded in death by his wife, sister Elizabeth; brother Lorenzo; parents, granddaughter Robin Elizabeth Davis; and uncle John Walton.

He is survived by son Arthur Davis, Fultondale, AL; daughter Aelisa Anderson (Bruce) Alabaster, AL; son Andrew Davis (Katie) Chickasha, OK; grandchildren: Amanda Davis, Alexia Machado (Ross), Bruce Anderson III, Joshua Anderson, Andrew Anderson, and Luke Andrew Davis; great grandchildren: Dominik, Ava Grace, Drakari, and Sebastian; sister Jessie M. Hentz, Chicago, IL; brother Jeffrey Stirtmire (Tina), Michigan; sister in-law Mary Davis, Chicago, IL; sister-in-law Mae Seward, Birmingham, AL; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

Arthur worked as a Railroad Engineer for CSX Transportation for more than 36 years, before he retired. He enjoyed cruise vacations and fishing with Lois; watching old western movies; and trips to the casino. He took great pride in being a provider to his family, maintaining a beautiful lawn and garden, and his ability to fix anything.

Arthur loved to be busy, and he was often up a ladder, in the garage, or on the roof. He loved a good story, to sit on the porch with a cigar, or to spend time with his grand and great-grandchildren. He was fascinated by nature, technology and the lives of his family. Everyone who knew him will remember his smile and his laugh.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 21 at 1:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South.
