Arlyn Woods

WOODS, ARLYN McKINNON, of Helena passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the age of 82. She was a previous member of Pleasant Grove Beautification Board and a member of the Joy Circle of Ensley First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Woods was a former member of the Eastern Star and Morning Glories. She was a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday school class. Mrs. Woods was retired from the Federal Government Selective Service System as an Area Director. She also retired from Southern Company Services. She and her husband were former members of several square dance clubs for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Regent McKinnon and her sister, Faye Morgan. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Walter J. Woods, Jr.; loving children, Virginia Franklin (Bobby), James A Woods, Rebecca Durham Hyde (David), Cecilia Surtees (Tommy); eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three faithful sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2008 from 1:00-2:30pm at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Chapel service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
