Mrs. Annie Bamberg Greenway, of Vestavia Hills, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the age of 96. She is now reunited with her husband, Howard Greenway; her beloved sisters, Berniece Bamberg and Mabel Bamberg, for whom she happily devoted her life in special care, Irma Hobson, and O'Neal Moore; and 2 brothers, Clifford Bamberg and Waymon Bamberg. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Matthew Wade Morrison, Michael Brett Morrison, and Adrianne Lee Morrison; great grandson, James Wyatt Roberts; 2 brothers, Gathon Bamberg and Floyd Bamberg (Vermelle); 3 sisters, Ida Mae Crocker (Calvin), Neva Aiken (Franklin), and Sarah Clements; sister-in-law, Martha Bamberg; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Calvin Crocker officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Foundry in Bessemer. Before retiring from South Central Bell (after 40+ years of service), she served in WWII as a Rosie the Riveter stationed in Boca Raton, FL. Annie was an active volunteer at elementary schools well into her 80s and an avid financial supporter of mission work in Africa. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. As Moses held up his staff on behalf of God's people Israel, so Annie held up her hands continually on behalf of the family she cherished so dearly. Unwavering, she stood strong in the strength of her Lord, giving strength and stability to her family. She was a true, humble, untiring, and unapologetic servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
