Mrs. Ann Gilliland Brooks, 89, of Birmingham, AL passed away on June 13, 2021. Ann was born on November 5, 1931, in Jefferson County, AL. She and her late husband were Charter members of Lakeside Baptist Church in 1957. She was the church secretary there for many years, and was a faithful member of the Lakeside Sanctuary Choir and New Life Singers.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter Brooks, and parents, Grover Gilliland and Bessie McKinley Gilliland.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Brooks (Cathy), Jimmy Brooks (Renee), and Roy Brooks, a brother; Mickey Gilliland (Laura Lee), 6 grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Andrew (Rebecca), Garrett, Ashton and Amy (Jirus Horten), and 5 great-grandchildren; Esther, Skylee Ann, Blake, Amari Camille, and Jirus Horten, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Lakeside Baptist Church. The service will begin at 2:00pm with Dr. Greg Corbin, Dr. Stacey Boutwell, Rev. Chris Diffey and Dr. Earl Tew officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

Pallbearers include Ashton Brooks, Garrett Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Michael Brooks, and Seth Graham.
