Mr. Andrew George Tsimpides, born August 16, 1917, of Birmingham, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011. He was a World War II Calvary veteran. He was a Professional Wrestling Manager for Gorgeous George and Manager for World Strong Man Paul Anderson. He was the co-owner of the 5 O'clock Club and the Crazy Horse. His is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Tsimpides, a sister Christine Tsimpides, and two brothers, Teddy Tsimpides and Lycurgus Tsimpides. He is survived by his sons, Danny (Tammy) Tsimpides, of Adamsville, Michael (Sherry) Tsimpides, of Helena, AL, four grandchildren, Danielle Tsimpides, Stephen Tsimpides, Christian Tsimpides, and Madison Tsimpides, three sisters, Lilly Babakitis, of Arizona, Cleo Costas, and Mary Jebeles, both of Albertville, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 21, 2011, from 6-8 PM at Holy Trinity Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Services will be Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 11:30 AM at the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
