Anabelle Sheild

age 83, formerly of Huntsville, passed away October 21, 2006. Mrs. Shield was a native of Stuttgart, AR. Married in 1944, she and her husband moved to various places around the country with IBM, finally settling in Hunstville in 1963. Mrs. Shield was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville and was acitve in the XYZ group at Trinity. Anne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who also gave of herself as a volunteer in various organizations throughout the area. Mrs. Shield was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Franklin Shield, Jr. She is survived by 2 sons, Dr. Charles Franklin Shield, III (Kitty) of Wichita, KS and James Floyd Shield (Denise) of Warrensburg, MO; 3 daughters, Linda Shield Wells (Dr. James) of Orangeburg, SC, Anita Shield Lee of Hoover, and Terra Shield Richardson of Hoover; 14 grandchildren, Chris Shield, Charlotte Zeuthen, Richard Shield, Deborah Thompson, James Wells, Sam Wells, Robert Lee, Michael Lee, Tony Shield, Ariel Shield, Laura Richardson, Jennifer Richardson, Tanya Roland, and Scott Bailey; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Laughlin Funeral Home on Bob Wallace Blvd. in Huntsville from 12:00 - 2:00, Wednesday, October 25, 2006. A service in the funeral home chapel will follow at 2:00, Rev. Mac Buttram officiating. The committal service will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
