Amy Long, of Hoover, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018, at age 37. She was born December 16, 1980, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Amy was a 1999 graduate of Hoover High School and loved music. During her youth, she won national awards in dance. Amy lived in Jacksonville, Florida, for 10 years where she was in the Sandalwood High School color guard. She was also an avid North Carolina Tar Heel fan. Amy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
Amy is survived by her son, Aaron D'Angiolillo; her parents, Wayne and Donna Long; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Karin Long and their children, Chloe, Leif, Eleanor, and Ripley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 12-1 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The service will follow in the chapel at 1 PM with Debbie Ward officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
