of Helena, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the age of 87. He was a retired civil servant from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH and served in the Air Force during WWII. Mr. Forbes was a graduate of Marysville High School in Marysville, KS. He was a member of Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, and was a member of the Alabaster Senior Center. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed, Pete, Jack, Clarence and Kenneth Forbes; and three sisters, Lena Bertram, Frances Wilcox and Ruby Gordon. He is survived by two sons, Gary Forbes (Karen) and Robert Forbes (Mae); seven grandchildren, Eric Forbes, Adam Forbes, Jennifer Watts, Teresa Adams, Donna Corbin (Gary), Anita Melton, and Kim Keanne; six great-grandchildren, Jack Adams, Kassidy Watts, Logan Watts, Paeton Crawford, Morgan Melton and Meagan Melton; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2008, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Tommy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Alabaster Senior Center.
