Adam Thomas

Adam Anselmo Thomas, age 43, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on October 14, 2017. Adam was born in Brookwood Hospital on April 28, 1974. From an early age and all throughout his life, Adam learned and practiced the virtue of friendship welcoming several of those friends into his life making the Thomas house the "gathering place" and second home to many. He graduated from Pelham High School where he played football and was among the most beloved members of his class. He continued on to Shelton State and was a brother in Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at the University of Alabama, through which he continued to make numerous lifetime friendships. Adam had an infectious smile and laugh that those who loved him will never forget. He loved visiting his many friends on the Gulf. He loved Alabama football. He loved haircut night with his Dad and brother. Most of all he loved his Mother, for whom he served as a tremendous inspiration and caretaker. He was a fantastic uncle to his niece, Katie, and the many children of his friends and family who affectionately referred to him as Uncle Fun. Adam was truly a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to all.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Katherine Fiorella, and Jack and Kathryn Thomas. Survivors include his loving mother, Samelia Thomas; father David "Ro" Thomas (Renee); brother Aaron (Lisa) Thomas; niece Katherine "Katie" Thomas; aunts Dawn Thomas and Melina "Boo" Fiorella; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Graveside service immediately following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Highway 150 in Hoover. The family appreciates flowers or in lieu thereof, contributions to the American Cancer Society would also be appreciated.
