Lieutenant Michael "Mike" Lucas

Lieutenant Mike Lucas, age 52, resided in Hoover, AL. Mike was born in Alabaster, Alabama, to the late Wayne and Nancy Lucas. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mark and Johnny; and survived by brother, Jason Lucas. He was married for 29 years to Shellye Lucas. He was a graduate of Bethel (College) University and the Alabama Police Academy. He was a member of the police force for 27 years and a Lieutenant in the Hoover Police Department at the time of his death. He was a member of Church of the Highlands - Greystone campus.

He is survived by his wife, Shellye; daughters, Amanda (Chad) Battle, Brittney (Paul) Bundy, Sarah Lucas, and Thea (Travis) Willard; as well as grandchildren, Charlotte Bundy, and Reagan and Evan Willard.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the Memorial Service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Charles Kelly officiating, there will be a one-hour Visitation prior.
